Lee Moretz is an artist originally from Southeastern Virginia who relocated to the southern Adirondacks of New York in 2017. She has been creating art since childhood and first exhibited her work in 1976 alongside her mother, also an artist, in a local mother–daughter show.
Growing up in her family’s art gallery, Lee was surrounded by creativity and business from an early age. She displayed and sold her own work there, earned awards in local shows, and has been featured in multiple news articles over the years for her artistic contributions.
Lee’s style is as diverse as her background. She works in mixed media and most often paints in acrylic and watercolor. Her body of work ranges from vivid abstract acrylic mandalas to detailed, realistic watercolor paintings — a reflection of both her technical range and her love of experimentation.
Her creativity extends beyond painting. In Smithfield, Virginia, Lee founded and ran her own business specializing in engraving, etching, and graphic art and design.
Lee holds two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree, and she has taught English, journalism, and drama. Since moving to upstate New York, she’s found constant inspiration in the natural beauty of the Adirondacks.
Her work can be seen in art shows and online. She also accepts commissions and frequently customizes pieces to create meaningful, one-of-a-kind artwork for homes and businesses.
